Jim Shergold

Jim Shergold has over 30 years of experience in helping owners like you.

Jim is an expert on building value and developing a plan for success by using a systematic approach to measure and improve the value of a business.

In the last 10 years, two of the businesses he has been personally involved in as the largest shareholder and director were sold with great success. One was sold for 4x investment within 3 years, and the other was sold for 3x investment within 3 years.

Jim has extensive operational and transactional experience with over 25 years in M&A, Private Equity and CEO roles.

He specialises in manufacturing and processing businesses, having been the CEO of one of Victoria’s largest quarrying, building and garden supplies groups.

Jim holds a Masters of Business Administration, an Accounting Degree and has bought and sold businesses valued up to $100 million.

These businesses have spanned multiple sectors including manufacturing, mining, engineering, construction, logistics, waste management, packaging, pharmaceuticals, financial services and hospitality.

Peter McDonald has over 20 years of experience in various senior leadership positions and over 15 years of both private and public company board experience. Prior to joining the MCA M&A team, Peter spent eight years as CEO of a publicly listed Australian company with annual sales of approximately $200 million and international operations in Australia, the USA, China, the Middle East and Japan. His career has spanned across manufacturing, commercial and agricultural, and retail home improvement and leisure industries.  In his corporate career he was involved in a number of acquisitions and divestments. Since joining MCA in 2016, Peter has successfully led multiple large M&A transactions across a variety of industries where the businesses have been sold to both local and international buyers.

Scott Williams

Scott Williams has held senior and board level roles across multiple industries including Processing, FMCG, Transport, Construction and Building Services.

After a career as a Commercial Airline Pilot, Scott transitioned and worked abroad within the FMCG industry before returning to Australia as Commercial Director of international hair care brand GHD. 

In 2009 Scott founded successful national building services company Jumbocorp, where he held the role of CEO until 2019.

Scott has since relocated with his family from Melbourne to South-East Queensland and opened the MCA office there.

Scott’s senior managerial, operational and board level experience have equipped him with the skills and understanding to achieve outstanding results for his clients.
